Document Reference
The Document Reference module enables you to attach reference documents such as designs, spreadsheets, graphics, databases files, etc., to any activity/issue of the project that is currently displayed in the Planner, Analyser, or Organiser. You can also attach reference documents to requirements in the Tracer. This pop-up serves as a document control system, whereby all documents remain permanently linked to the activities, issues, or requirements.
Some of the key features / benefits of this module are:
- Set references to the documents that are required to complete a task, correct an issue, or explain a requirement.
- Refer to and manage all documents using the File, iPlan, and Version repositories.
- Attach a link from the files on your File Manager (network) to the tasks and issues you are working on.
- Store files in the iPlan Manager (database) and link them to your tasks, issues, and requirements.
- Manage different versions of your working files using the Version Manager.
- Select and attach the files to the tasks or issues assigned to your team members so that they can check-out and modify these impacted files.
- Allow the reviewer to pick up the files you attach to your work from any of the above mentioned file managers.
- Launch the files in their native application if you wish to modify them.
- Get a view of the entire history of modifications from the Version Managers.
- Compare any two previous versions of a file in the Version Managers.
- Use this interface to attach quality manuals and documents to the process template tasks.
